Seaburn Recreation Park, Sunderland

February 2017 saw the completion of the latest development in a series of works at Seaburn in Sunderland.

As part of the ongoing improvements to the seafront, a new bespoke automated entrance gate and side gate have been installed at Seaburn's Recreation Park thanks to funding through the Coastal Communities Fund.

Designed by Chris, the gates create a stunning feature focal point for the seafront park which hosts numerous high profile events including the annual Sunderland International Airshow, the Seaburn Classic Car Show and Armed Forces Day.

This project is a great example of how practical engineering doesn't have to be plain or 'off the shelf'.  The gates are constructed from mild-steel, with a galvanised t-wash finish.  They also carry the pebble theme which runs through the wider public relam features of railings and benches along the seafront.
