Hosted by the Low Wood Hotel, Ambleside on the shores of Windermere, the auction marked the end of the invasion of a flock of life size fantasy Herdwick ewes which appeared in unexpected places across the Central Lakes.

Decorated by individuals, schools and businesses, the flock of over 60 lifestyle ewes and lambs went under the hammer and raised an incredible £245,000 for the Lake District Calvert Trust.

Chris's daughter Wren, a student at The Lakes School designed two ewes - Ewegene and Patchy - as part of a school project.  Together they raised over £5,000 for the charity which was just fantastic.

We are still in awe of the event and in shock at Parker 'the one that got away' which sold for an incredible £20,000.
