We are delighted to announce that our search for a new craftsmen has resulted in the appointment of experienced fabrictor welder Andy Collinson.

Originally from Preston, 26 year-old Andy completed an advanced apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacturing at Preston College before embarking on a career in the fabrication industry.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, his interest in creative metalwork has grown along with his experience and commitment to self development.  A recent move to the Lake District with his partner Emma resulted in Andy seeking a new opportunity and being familiar with works by Chris Brammall and hearing of our vacancy through word of mouth Andy got in touch.

"I'm really looking forward to applying my skills and experience to the intereting and varied projects here at Chris Brammall' comments Andy.  "I'm currently working on a project in Corten - also known as Weathering Steel - to create huge viewing platforms for the Flows region of North Scotland.  They are quite complex due to their size and shape and require numerous technically challenging processes and rolling to get the shape just right - its a great project to start with".

When he's not working Andy is a keen amateur photographer and enjoys being out in the Lake District - that is when he's not tinkering with rally cars!

Welcome to the team Andy!

Andy the Welder - new recruit at Chris Brammall

The appointment comes at a key time for the business and we are thrilled to have Andy onboard.  Recruiting the right people with the right skill set is becoming increasingly difficult and as a small business we must look at ways in which we can stand out from the crowd in order to attract new talent.  Only by doing so will we attract the next generation and skills set required to help us achieve growth and sustain our business for the future.  But that's just the start - of course only by investing in our workforce and retaining that talent will the business succeed.
